Light, Water, Flowers

an exhibit of Glass, Japanese Calligraphy & Ikebana

This is a collaborative exhibit between myself, Ken Peterson, my mother Hiromi Peterson who practices Shodo (Japanese Calligraphy), a philosopher Robin Fujikawa, and Naomi Omizo who practices Ikebana (flower arrangement). The show was on display at Punahou School’s Kirsch gallery in Honolulu, Hawaii September 16-30 of 2004.

Each piece is represented in three parts to give the whole of an idea…… First is shodo, the poetry of the piece is presented in brush strokes of Japanese/Chinese characters. Second is the hand crafted glass, which gives a visual interpretation. Third is a translation from Japanese to English, accompanied by a dialog of insight, history, and philisophical thoughts.

On behalf of Hiromi, Robin, Naomi, and myself, thank you for visiting our exhibit, we appreciate you coming by. Please take your time, relax and enjoy.
